Kid’s Sunday

On Sunday the kids led service with a slamming Christmas program. Before worship they sang two songs from Hillsong kids and led the church in the movements to the songs. Then they did a great rendition of the Christmas story that showed their great understanding of it. After, they did a puppet show that was very amusing but told the Christmas story. The church as a whole are very proud of our children and all the hard work that they have put into this and the understanding they have shown for Christmas. We pray that our children will continue to grow stronger in their faith under the direction of HPC Kids. Altogether it was very successful and we thank KFC (Kids For Christ) for their hard work.

Day 5 as told by Bheki – member of the media team:

I was posted to the Mangwaneni (Manzini) care point. Today, unlike yesterday, nothing went wrong. We had a good time I was doing the video and we had lots of enthusiastic kids willing to give me a smile. Also people didn’t get in the way as much today. I actually got some really good shots of the volunteers doing really good work. It is inspiring to see how much of an impact they are having on the kid’s lives. I could hardly hold the camera steady as I was overcome with emotion (LOL). But seriously we had a great time and honestly I’m not tired at all I can’t wait for tomorrow we gonna go out with a bang!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 4 – Children’s Cup Christmas Parties

Today started out as a great day to serve the Lord. The weather was mild but a bit foggy nevertheless everyone was pumped and ready to go, especially after a great session of praise and worship. When we got there everyone set up everything and things were going very well. Then unfortunately it began to rain heavily. This however did not dampen peoples’ spirit (pun intended). The party kept going in ankle deep water, in fact the dancers seemed to feed off the rain as their routine gained energy. Ultimately, lightning struck literally and we could not continue lest the equipment get damaged. Overall it was still a great day for the kids and to serve God and we thank him for showing his mercy by protecting us. Another successful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 3 – Children’s Cup Christmas Parties

Today was an awesome day; the kids at all the care points had an immensely great time. At all the care points we had the same activities as per the norm.

We had the children’s faces painted, it was interesting to see all the kid’s faces with slogans like ‘on for Jesus’ emblazoned on them. We also had jumping castles and water slides, they seemed to excite the older volunteers even more than the kids themselves! Then children were treated with a cup of ice cream as once again we had VERY warm weather. The atmosphere was filled with the sounds of joy and youthful laughter as the kids thoroughly enjoyed the relays and were entertained by the Christmas movie. The energy was kept at a high level by the dance station where child and volunteer alike experienced an intense workout courtesy of the Love of the Lord God Almighty. Not forgetting the crux of the whole day, the kids memorized Bible verses in a way they could never forget. One of the hits of the day was the hilarious puppet show, which had everyone in stitches. Finally we had a play done by the kids themselves highlighting some of the things Children’s Cup does. After that the real fun began. It was time to EAT! What a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 2 – Children’s Cup Christmas Parties

HOT!!! HOT!!! HOT!!!!

It just keeps getting better and better! Today we went down to the other side of Swaziland for three unforgettable parties. It was a long two-hour drive to the care-points but once we got there, we had an amazing time of fun and games with the kids.

It was so hot that all the kids at the Maphiveni Care-Point didn’t want to leave the water slide station! The Kids at Mayenjani just couldn’t get enough of the dance lessons they were having despite the sizzling sun shining on them, and Lomahasha were not to be outdone as they had their Party up on the side of a hill.

It was just incredible seeing all these kids having the most incredible time in their lives this year. Thank you to everyone that made today possible!!

Day 1 – Children’s Cup Christmas Parties

Saturday was the kick off day of our 6 days of Christmas parties. The day started off to a good note with absolutely beautiful weather seeing as the earlier days had been pretty hot.

The first three care-points to have their parties were Ludzeludze, Zombodze and Mbekelweni.

Ludzeludze was absolutely lovely and lively as the kids really enjoyed learning the dance that was put together. The Face-painting at Zombodze was just wonderful and the kids were looking great. Mbekelweni was especially wonderful seeing the excitement kids showed at the jumping castle.

Christianity vs Culture

Today, was an amazing day at HPC Swaziland. We had Pastor Grace Masilela come and share with us on the topic of Christianity vs Culture.

Pastor Grace used to be a Sangoma(a witch doctor) but has been a Christian and Pastor for the past 30 years.

She brought incredible truth on what the Bible has to say, not only about a lot of the things done here in Swaziland culturally, but also about the things that we as christens continue to do as general culture, not looking if it’s in line with what the word of God says.

The truths revealed today have had a great impact on us and will certainly change several lives for Christ!
